Rule #9

Wealth is not something to flaunt, especially if it's your parents, not yours. Don't go around in overly expensive clothing, carry bags that cost more than some cars, or buy coats that you'll wear maybe ten times. After all, and most parents will agree with me on this, it's rarely you're money that you're spending.

Rule #8

Always treat women with respect. Never, EVER, treat them like dirt, because, when it comes down to it, you'll either be with a woman that you respect; or no woman at all. Women do not enjoy being treated like dirt. In fact, you should treat all women, whether you like them or not, with the respect they deserve.

Rule #7

Timing is everything. Simple rule, it's easy to follow, and to remember as well. Timing meaning when to ask questions, when to tell people things, when to NOT tell people things. Examples are the following: Don't ask your physics teacher about his/her favorite food during class; tell people how your feeling during your free periods, tell jokes during your free periods, and don't tell jokes in class. Timing stuff like this will benefit you, your friends, and in this case, your teachers.

Rule #6

Choose a sport that you enjoy playing, a hobby that you do a lot, or anything active. Playing a sport is beneficial for one's health and well-being, as well as it being fun and interesting to do. People who play sports are often the most fit people, as well as having the most friends. That brings me to another point, don't play a sport just because your friends are playing it. This will only result in your embarrassment, that of your friends, and likely being kicked off (or quit) the team or sport. It's easy, find something active you like to do, and do it!

Rule #5

Spend money wisely. Yeah, this kinda is a rule for life, but I've seen way too many kids my age spend ridiculous amounts of money on stuff. One of my friends this summer spent like $2500 in three weeks (or less...). Point is, unless you're the one using your own money, don't buy overly pointless stuff. Save it, and spend it on something hugely awesome later, rather than buying pointless crap now.

Rule #4

This rule concerns online contacting sources such as facebook and formspring. For people in general, don't say stuff on facebook that is dirty in content in any ways. stuff like that can be tracked down by people and viewed by people that you might not want to see it. also, posting stupid pictures like drinking alcohol or stuff like that can get you suspended or in serious trouble. Avoid stuff like that.

For formspring, if your going to post something, either post it as yourself [not anonymously] or say it to this person. insults are pointless [and mean anyway] if you don't say it to this persons face. if you do it anonymously, your just being a insecure jerk. also, girls don't find it sexy that you can talk dirty to them while your anonymous. if you do or did this, i suggest either stopping it; or even telling this girl how you feel. This is my #4 rule!

Rule #3

SAT's are amongst the most important test you will ever take. So, in the words from the book Sh*t My Dad Says:
"Remember, it's just a test. If you f*ck up, it doesn't mean you're a f*ckup. That said, try not to f*ck this up, It's pretty important."

Hey, its good advice and it gets the message through. In short, tests like this are important, so try your best!

Rule #2

If you can avoid it, don't get braces. Not only are they a pain in the butt, going back to the office every few weeks can be time consuming and an annoyance. My braces break every week or so. Granted, I pick at them, but hey, aren't they supposed to be unbreakable? I have to go back, sit for thirty minutes to an hour and let my mouth and jaw essentially get re-arranged. Since my braces have been put on, I have had four teeth pulled, four cavities filled, approximately seventy wires broken, and probably around fifteen brackets. Yes, its a pain. So for rule #2 Avoid braces unless necessary!

Rule #1

Hey everybody, this is 1001 Rules about being a teenager. This is going to my number one rule:
Just be yourself. Yes, it does sound corny, but it's true. Parents may blockade what you want, teachers may give you loads of homework, but don't let anyone tell you how to live your life. That's the number one rule of being a teenager,
